Biographie

David Bowditch Morse (né le 11 octobre 1953) est un acteur américain de théâtre, de télévision et de cinéma. Il a d'abord attiré l'attention nationale en tant que Dr Jack Morrison dans le drame médical St.Ailleurs de 1982 à 1988. Morse a poursuivi sa carrière cinématographique avec des rôles dans Dancer in the Dark, The Negotiator, The Green Mile, Disturbia, The Long Kiss Goodnight, The Crossing Guard, The Rock, Extreme Measures, Twelve Monkeys, 16 Blocks et Hounddog. En 2006, Morse a eu un rôle récurrent en tant que détective Michael Tritter dans le drame médical House pour lequel il a reçu une nomination aux Emmy Awards. Morse a dépeint George Washington dans la mini-série HBO 2008 John Adams, qui lui a valu une deuxième nomination aux Emmy. Morse a été acclamé pour son interprétation d'Oncle Peck dans la pièce Off-Broadway How I Learned to Drive pour laquelle il a remporté un Drama Desk et Obie Award. Il a également eu du succès à Broadway, incarnant James "Sharky" Harkin dans The Seafarer. À partir de 2011, Morse est un habitué de la série HBO, "Treme".
